The simplicity of being a child is having an optimistic view of the world! “Bright eyed and bushy tailed!”

Well, I would like to share a little story about a woman who has made quite an impact on me recently, and once you read this, her ways of the world will make just a little more sense to us all, enjoy. icon smile Inside Secrets to Michelle Hummels Success by: Stephanie Klein

Labor Day is a day to celebrate the achievements that have been placed before us. To honor those who have made such vast strides in America to pave the way for the rest of us, hard working Americans to this day.

And, as that holiday rolls around each year, families gather together to celebrate the end of summer with friends and barbeques. Kids reminisce on the summer recess that is now coming to a prompt end, but there are those who listen to every word their father tells them, Michelle Hummel.

When Michelle was a young child, she returned from her Labor Day recess to class with the rest of her peers and followed the instructions given by her teacher to write a brief story of what she and her family did for the holiday.

As Michelle fiercely scribbled down her tales, the other children began to share their stories with the class. Stories of family picnics,office41 Inside Secrets to Michelle Hummels Success by: Stephanie Klein barbeques with friends, weekend trips with grandparents.

It was then that Michelle realized her Labor Day was, well a Labor Day. Her day consisted of waking up early, tending to the farm, the animals, and the fruits and vegetables that were ready to be harvested.

For you see, Michelle was told (and tricked) that Labor Day was the day when you work the hardest, wake up the earliest and put in the most hours to get in the most amount of work!

To this day, Michelle treats every day like it’s “Labor Day” and I am honored to work for such a driven and hard working woman.

Does using Hootsuite kill your Facebook EdgeRank? Yes!

September 6th, 2011

hootsuite fail Does using Hootsuite kill your Facebook EdgeRank? Yes!

With so many people using Hootsuite to automate Facebook posts you will see them all listed as “via Hootsuite” and lumped together on your newsfeed saying “See 40 more posts from Hootsuite”. This would require a user to click on the link to see all the posts and unfortunately the average user is not going to click. Thus making your posts invisible and lowering your Facebook EdgeRank.

What is Facebook EdgeRank?

It means the posts that have more comments and likes are showing up on the “top news feed” for Facebook. If your posts are getting lumped in with all the other Hootsuite posts then chances are users are not seeing them at all. Therefore you will not have the EdgeRank you need to show up in the “top news feed” making your marketing efforts worthless.

The staff over at EdgeRankChecker did a very indepth study and the results were pretty damaging for Hootsuite. They found that there was a 70% drop in engagement per fan!!! This is insane! Especially since Hootsuite recently rolled out new Facebook features to their social media platform.

How can I make sure my posts are getting seen?

Send Social Media can help! Instead of the dreaded “via Hootsuite” that lumps all your posts together with everyone else’s you can upgrade your account to say “via YOUR COMPANY NAME”!! This ensures you will not be lumped together but treated as a single post worthy of that “top news feed” placement. Click here to upgrade your Send Social Media account and start getting more engagement on your posts to increase your EdgeRank!

Best Regards,

Michelle Hummel
