Breaking News: WME Has Great Time at PodCamp!

Last Saturday the WME crew attended PodCamp Cincinnati for the first time, and LOVED it! We started bright and early, by fueling our stomachs with the breakfast bar at Frisch’s then off to checkin and registration at 8:30am at the College of Informatics in NKU.

The College of Informatics is a new addition to Northern Kentucky University, and we were lucky enough to bask in it’s awe all day long. As we all gathered for the opening comments and “Welcome” we knew this was going to be a day of knowledge, fun and great relationships!

#PodCincy was the hashtag for the event, and is still being used for communication on Twitter via the attendees and presenters of the event.

Michelle Hummel of WebMediaExpert was one of the presenters with, “20 Ways to Grow Your Social Media Presence.” We also gave away free copies of the Social Media Monthly Magazine, where Michelle will be a contributing editor.

I could go on for days on the fun we had, the notes we took, and the new Facebook friends we all have made icon smile Breaking News: WME Has Great Time at PodCamp! Thank you Daniel Lewis for putting this whole thing together!!

The Social Media Monthly Magazine Available Nationally; 1st of it’s kind

SMM Cover The Social Media Monthly Magazine Available Nationally; 1st of its kind

Cool Blue Press, has announced that their new magazine, The Social Media Monthly, will be selling their November issue nationally at Barnes & Noble, select airports, overseas in 9 countries, and in the iTunes Store. It’s the world’s first printed magazine dedicated to the exploration of the evolving technology area of social media, and Web Media Expert is excited to announce their CEO Michelle Hummel will be a featured editor.

Founder of The Cool Blue Company, Robert Fine,  has a special focus on quality artwork for the print publication. The inaugural September issue featured a specially designed cover by artist Yiying Lu, known for her famous drawings of the “Fail Whale” used by Twitter and the “Pale Whale” featuring Conan O’Brien – and included a bonus removable wall graphic. The October issue features a cover design and a special double-sided pull-out poster by DC based design firm JESS3. Tech Cocktail Startup Mixology conference attendees may especially like the colorful poster, which features the various “ingredients” that each speaker spoke about as requirements for starting and running a new venture.

Looking ahead to the next month, “The upcoming November issue has received a 50% order increase since our launch issue just six weeks ago. It will expand our international footprint by two more countries with Spain and Portugal, and will be carried throughout Canada by the Chapters/Indigo bookstore chain and Walmart Canada,” said Robert Fine.

“We will continue to try and do things that keep print fresh and readers interested in having a print copy of the magazine. Right now, there are some things you just can’t reproduce in a digital format, like a reusable sticker or a wall poster.”

Fine is also the author of “The Big Book of Social Media Case Studies, Stories, Perspectives” and has over 17 years experience as a systems and sales engineer with various high-tech companies. In addition to The Social Media Monthly, Fine is currently pursuing his PhD at George Mason University where he is researching links between investments in information technology and achieving conservation outcomes.
