Image Editing
The importance of good eBay auction pictures cannot be underestimated - a clear, sharp photo can help an
auction achieve a significantly higher selling price than a poorly lit and out of focus image. The programs in
this category are of three main types:
Photo editing software can produce amazing results by enhancing even the worst photo to a respectable
image quality
Viewing and slide show applications help you manage your digital images by displaying them in thumbnail
format. Some programs have basic editing functions and can create web pages of thumbnail images with links
to the original graphics.
Drawing software is used to create your own pictures from scratch, such as logos and buttons.
Dimin Image Viewer
Dimin Image Viewer supports viewing of many different image formats, and can apply a variety of
enhancements. Free for non commercial purposes only.
IrfanView
IrfanView is an image viewer and editor that supports all major graphic formats. It features directory viewing,
scanner image capture, slide shows, batch conversion, and image enhancements such as colour depth, crop,
blur, and sharpen. Free for non-commercial use only.
XnView
Digital photo viewer and editor. Can also be used to view movie files.
Auction Research Tools
It does not take a lot of experience of selling on eBay to realise that it can be a very time-consuming and
complex process. These tools address issues that may seem simple at first but quickly become cumbersome
when sales volume increases, such as:
*Managing and printing dispatch labels for parcels
*Monitoring PayPal for new payments
*Managing your blocked bidders list
*Sending emails via the eBay system
*Managing frequently used phrases
*Analyzing auctions to determine market prices and the best time to buy or sell
DeepAnalysis
DeepAnalysis shows items, sellers, and detailed statistics for a category, keyword search, or seller that you
specify. Statistics include total sales, sell-through rates and more for various types of auctions. May require
update immediately following installation.
AuctionIntelligence
AuctionIntelligence helps you analyze eBay auctions to determine price trends and the best times to buy or
sell items.
BayMail
BayMail sends emails through the eBay system (using member IDs) via its own simple interface.
Auction Keywords
This is a very valuable service, imagine, knowing what people are searching for. That;s just what you get with
AuctionKeywords, the top searched keywords on eBay. This isn't necessarily items that have sold, but they
are what people have placed in the search box. Knowing this will enable you to understand what people
WANT to buy, and can help you find underdeveloped markets that don't have much supply.
Andale's Research Tool
There have been some members voice their opposition to Andale as an auction management service but I
think for $2.99 a month their "Research" tool is well worth it. You can try it out for free using the above URL
Sniping
Sniping is the practice of placing a bid very close to the end of an auction to win items at lower prices or
against strong competition.
These tools make sniping easier by building a list of auctions you are interested in and scheduling snipes for
a specified number of seconds or minutes before the auction closes. Online sniping services have the
advantage of placing bids when you are offline.
Auction Sentry
Auction Sentry automates bidding by placing your bid as close to the end of the auction as possible. Auction
Sentry tracks auctions, and can be configured to alert you when an auction you are following receives a bid.
SnipeRight Professional
SnipeRight is desktop software that places bids on eBay at the last possible via an Internet service - you don't
need to leave your PC switched on or connected to the Internet.
BidSage
Free searching and sniping tool from the maker of AuctionSage. Search features include finding auctions by
category, seller, or keyword and displaying a live countdown.
Product Finder
Google
You may be surprised that the best tool for finding sources of products is Google. If you know how to word
your search query, you can get excellent results. If you use the second link, you will see what I mean.
When you enter text into the search query look for manufactures of what ever product you are looking for.
You can also use:
"resellers wanted"
"distributor login"
"manufacturer rep"
*Don't overlook eBay, you can often find items from inexperienced sellers who don't understand how to sell on
eBay yet, but you can buy poorly presented products and re list them for a profit.
